Overview
As a Java Software Engineer in the Prime team, you will help scale our Prime program to a best-in-class membership offering that customers love.
This hybrid role can be based in Barcelona or Madrid.
Join the world's leading travel subscription platform and one of the largest e-commerce businesses in Europe, serving millions of customers across 44 markets with Prime memberships and a high-velocity AI-driven product ecosystem.
What you will do
Work with a tech stack including Java 8, Java 11, Maven, TestNG, Cucumber, Mockito, Oracle, Elasticsearch, Redis, Kafka, Neo4j, Datamesh, Datadog, Kibana; Docker, Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform, SonarQube.
Create distributed, scalable microservices platforms deployed daily with high quality, clean code, SOLID principles, design patterns and TDD.
Promote microservices, clean code, SOLID principles and TDD across the team.
Be independent across modules in your area of expertise, in any phase of the SDLC.
Design and develop advanced systems for finance, payments or fraud, and communicate solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.
Code with high quality and participate as a reference for best practices within the team.
You will work in a fully agile organization using Kanban, participate in team ceremonies, and collaborate with product managers, architects, UX designers to build and evolve the Payments Domain microservices platform.
You will receive mentorship and support to develop your career quickly.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Applied AI Tools: practical AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or other AI-powered coding assistants.
Experimentation mindset: curiosity to explore and integrate AI-driven solutions into development workflows.
AI-enhanced problem solving: ability to leverage AI tools to debug code and improve productivity.
Adaptability and learning agility: enthusiasm for continuous learning and adapting to new AI features.
Collaboration with AI: interest in pairing with AI tools to complement traditional software development.
What you need to succeed
Deep understanding of software engineering concepts such as OOP, functional programming, concurrency, data structures, design and architecture patterns, databases, APIs. Experience across the full software development lifecycle, including production deployment and testing (unit and integration), as well as Cloud and Continuous Delivery environments.
Strong data-driven design pattern skills and best practices.
Quality mindset with clear, concise, well-tested code.
Ability to analyze challenges and provide creative, outcome-focused solutions.

Team player with collaborative mindset and willingness to share knowledge.
