Mission: Lead and scale the Platform Engineering & Developer Experience initiatives at BrainRocket.

You will oversee DevEx Engineering, Platform Engineering, and Release Management teams, own our Internal Developer Platform, and establish measurable, self-service practices around build, release, observability, and developer productivity.

Your mission is to provide a complete and up-to-date service catalog, golden paths, scorecards, tooling, and processes that empower engineers, reduce cognitive load, and improve the way we build, test, release, and scale products.

Key responsibilities

  • Own and evolve the Internal Developer Platform and its related ecosystem (GitLab, ArgoCD, SonarQube, Unleash, Nexus, Okta, Jira, and Slack integrations), ensuring secure and efficient CI/CD practices and release governance
  • Drive the Service Catalog initiative and knowledge-sharing culture, establishing rituals, trainings, and mentorship programs that grow technical excellence
  • Define and drive the strategy, tooling, and culture that enable every engineer to be faster, safer, and happier
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire high-performing teams, while acting as the primary advocate for developer productivity and platform reliability
  • Standardize workflows, progressive delivery strategies (blue-green, canary), and observability to accelerate delivery while reducing risk
  • Build and maintain reliable data workflows and scorecards that track DORA, reliability, security, and cost metrics, publishing clear dashboards and driving adoption across engineering leadership
  • Lead the architecture of the Internal Developer Portal, provide company-wide golden paths, and run developer feedback loops (surveys, interviews, Slack AMAs) to continuously improve DevEx
  • Partner with executives, engineering managers, and technical stakeholders to align strategy, close gaps, and ensure platform adoption across all teams and services

Required experience

  • 7+ years in engineering leadership, with at least 3 years leading Platform, DevEx, or DevOps teams; proven track record in hiring, coaching, and scaling high-performing engineering teams
  • Hands-on experience rolling out Internal Developer Platforms (Port.io, Backstage, Cortex, or similar), service catalogs, and scorecards
  • Deep knowledge of cloud-native ecosystems (Kubernetes, GitLab pipelines, ArgoCD, progressive delivery techniques) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform)
  • Strong technical background in at least one major programming language (Python, Go, TypeScript, or Java)
  • Familiarity with developer productivity and reliability metrics (DORA, SLIs/SLOs/SLAs, FinOps) and experience translating insights into action
  • Understanding microservices architectures and team/service ownership models
  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills, able to align executives, partner teams, and individual contributors

Nice to have

  • Background in Developer Relations or Developer Advocacy
  • Prior experience with Release Management frameworks at scale.
