The Opportunity

Cint seeks a Cloud Infrastructure (DevOps) Engineer to join our Infrastructure team, reporting to the Infrastructure Engineering Manager.

As a Cloud Infrastructure (DevOps) Engineer at Cint, you will be an efficient problem solver, learn on the fly and make decisions quickly.

You will have the opportunity to work with the latest technologies, and we strive to be at the forefront of the latest tech stacks and tools used within our domain.

Your Responsibilities

• Work as part of the Infrastructure team on sprints that evolve our core platform and systems
• Provide point of expertise on infrastructure and CI/CD to our wider engineering teams — often working as part of their scrum on larger projects
• Automate the build and deployment of software to our cloud platform and help the organisation do it more efficiently and effectively.
  
  Eliminate repetitive manual operations
• Improve our monitoring and alerting systems to enable engineering teams to operate and gain insights into the behaviour of applications in hands-off environments
• Participate in an on-call rotation and assist with troubleshooting issues
• Be a key person for the development organisation by communicating the overall picture that enables teams to achieve better results

With a remote-first mindset, you would join an international team with the possibility to work from our offices around the globe when needed.

About the Team

The Infrastructure Team’s mission is to design, build and develop secure and highly available infrastructure, and provide a self-service environment enabling software development teams to move fast, stay compliant and take end-to-end responsibility for their products.

Major elements of our platform include AWS (S3, RDS, Kinesis, EC2, EMR, ElastiCache, ElasticSearch and EKS).

We also plan to expand into GCP (Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Google Kubernetes Engine and BigQuery).

Tools include Linux, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, Packer, Ansible and Jenkins.

We support applications in Golang, Python, Java, Scala and .Net and monitor via Grafana, Prometheus, Graphite and ELK stacks.

We are committed to infrastructure as code and building an end-to-end continuous deployment pipeline.

What We Are Looking For

• We value individuals energized by complex challenges, teamwork and problem solving, with potential prior experience in cloud native systems or related architecture

Qualifications

Required qualifications

• Experience in predominantly cloud infrastructure roles (AWS) within DevOps teams
• Confident interaction with cloud platforms including AWS & GCP via CLI and/or API
• Experience deploying infrastructure as code (Terraform; ideally with Ansible, Packer)
• Strong knowledge of building and running Docker images/containers
• Good understanding of the software development lifecycle, including Git and CI tools (Jenkins Groovy DSL, TravisCI, GitHub Actions, etc.)
• Knowledge of cloud native and 12-Factor applications
• Experience with monitoring/alerting using Graphite, Statsd, Prometheus, Grafana, PagerDuty
• Experience with at least one scripting or programming language (Python, Bash, Ruby, Node, Golang, Java)

Bonus Points If You Have

• Knowledge of network stack at L4/L7, including inter-VPC routing
• Experience with DNS and resolver hierarchies
• Ability to debug HTTP APIs and understand L7 protocols
• Experience administering Kubernetes
• Cloud security expertise (threat assessment, attack surface management, SGs, NACLs, data security)
• Experience administering Windows servers in AWS
• Experience with CD strategies (Blue/Green, DNS or LB weighting, automated regression testing) and tools (Spinnaker, CodeDeploy, Jenkins for CD)
