Senior QA Automation Engineer

Work format: Hybrid – 3 days per week in our Alcobendas office, 2 days remote.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze requirements, specifications, and technical design documents, providing timely feedback to stakeholders.
- Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test documentation.
- Design, develop, and execute automated tests.
- Identify, resolve, and track bugs.
- Perform regression testing.
- Manage automation frameworks and test databases within our CI/CD framework.
Requirements
- Proven in-depth experience (3–4 years minimum) in testing web applications and APIs, as well as developing automated tests.
- Strong knowledge of QA methods, tools, and processes.
- Programming skills in at least one language, preferably Java.
- Hands‑on experience with automated test tools/frameworks (e.g., Selenium, RestAssured).
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix shell.
- Knowledge of modern web services (REST, API standards, HTTP protocol, etc.) and SQL databases; working knowledge of JUnit.
- Experience working in an agile environment.
- Strong team spirit, analytical mindset, and quality awareness; open to constructive feedback and process improvements.
- Completed technical studies or comparable qualifications.
- Fluent English (German is a plus).
- Nice to have: experience with CI/CD, DevOps, Docker/Kubernetes.
- Backends: Services mainly based on Spring Boot and Apache Camel, exposed via REST or message queues.
- Integrations: APIs from providers such as Google Cloud Platform, AWS, and 1&1.
- Code Quality: Test code is treated with the same seriousness as production code.
- Continuous Delivery: Multiple daily deployments via Git, Helm, and Jenkins.
- Operations: Docker containers in a managed Private Cloud Kubernetes cluster.
- Monitoring & Analysis: ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, and Icinga.
