Profile Overview As a Senior Engineer, the successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the future of how the web is rendered and indexed.

They will bring deep technical expertise, lead by example, and help guide their team through tough engineering challenges, all while keeping performance, simplicity, and reliability at the heart of their work.

This is a hands-on role where leadership comes from contribution.

The Senior Engineer will help define direction, mentor others, and ensure that the systems built are robust, scalable, and easy to work with.

Responsibilities

Lead by doing:

Contribute to core systems while raising the bar on code quality, testing, and design.

Promote practices like TDD, pair programming, and continuous delivery to maintain speed without sacrificing stability.

Engineers own what they build, from design and implementation to operations and observability.

A Typical Day Might Involve

Pairing with another engineer to debug a tricky issue or spike a new feature.

Giving feedback on a design proposal or pull request.

Helping define technical priorities in a planning session with product.

Mentoring a newer teammate through a code review or whiteboard session.

Improving tests or tooling to keep deployments smooth and safe.

Jumping into logs or metrics to trace a performance regression in production.

Qualifications

Proven experience:

10+ years building and shipping production software, ideally in a SaaS or infrastructure context.

Strong fundamentals:

Deep understanding of modern software engineering, performance tuning, and distributed systems.

Skilled in our stack:

Comfortable with TypeScript/Node.js and/or Golang, cloud-native tools (AWS is a plus).

Experience with NestJS or Terraform is a bonus.

Craft-focused:

Write clean, maintainable code and advocate for simplicity in design.

Delivery mindset:

Balance speed with quality and know when to optimize for each.

Mentorship skills:

Enjoy helping others level up through thoughtful feedback and collaboration.

Communication:

Explain technical topics clearly, both within the team and to stakeholders across the company.

Curiosity and initiative:

Not afraid to dig deep or take the lead on making things better.

Bonus if you have experience in SEO, web performance, or rendering pipelines, but it’s not a requirement.
