Senior Backend Programmer – Role Overview As our Senior Backend Programmer, you will be responsible for the design and development of our robust backend systems while collaborating with our external partners.
Responsibilities
Work closely with game designers to ensure backend systems support and enhance game features and player experiences such as authentication, player data management, and meta progression systems.
Work with technology partners to integrate advanced backend technologies and tools, fostering innovation and expanding the capabilities of our games.
Design and develop robust backend systems, ensuring scalability, performance, and security to support game functionalities and user data management.
Develop and maintain Unreal Engine C++ client code for interacting with backend services, facilitating seamless gameplay experiences and data exchange.
Oversee the deployment and management of backend services on cloud platforms, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and scalability.
Implement and maintain security measures to protect user data and comply with relevant laws and regulations, conducting regular security audits and updates.
Evaluate, select, and integrate appropriate Backend as a Service platforms to expedite development while meeting project requirements and timelines.
Qualifications
Demonstrable experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining backend systems from scratch, with a strong understanding of backend architecture best practices.
Familiarity with leading BaaS software (e.g., PlayFab, GameSparks, Accelbyte, etc.), including integration, customization, and optimization to meet project needs.
Experience in developing client‑side Unreal Engine C++ code for consuming backend services, ensuring seamless integration and communication between the game and backend systems.
Knowledge of networking protocols, security best practices for backend development, and experience in implementing secure, scalable, and high‑performance services.
Experience in designing, developing, and managing RESTful APIs and understanding of web services architecture.
Experience with cloud computing services (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) for hosting and managing backend infrastructure, including knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
