Tech Foundations Mission & Scope Mission : Tech Foundations enables Product Crews to experiment and ship product increments quickly, fostering product quality and reliability with security as a nonnegotiable attribute.
Developer productivity enhancements (e.g. local environment setup, monorepo tooling, custom CLI and dashboards).
Design and development unification (e.g. Design System).
Infrastructure enablement for product crews (e.g. hosting improvements, CI/CD).
Security and compliance facilitation (e.g. authentication, database anonymization).
Focus for 2025 In 2025 we will grow the team significantly to further increase our impact, improving the quality of our foundations from Infrastructure to code foundations.
We also have ambitions around our Security stack (authentication in particular) and enhanced tools and processes for developers.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain our
Expo applications
serving members across iOS and Android.
Optimize mobile performance, user experience, and offline capabilities.
Contribute to our
mobile platform foundations
and development practices.
Collaborate closely with designers and product teams to implement pixel‑perfect, delightful mobile experiences.
Mentor other engineers & lead crews.
Contribute to hiring and shape the candidate hiring experience.
Qualifications & Fit
Strong experience with React Native (2+ years preferred) or native mobile development with willingness to work with React Native and Expo.
Understand iOS and Android platform specifics and mobile app deployment processes.
Experience building member/consumer‑facing mobile applications at scale.
Comfortable with JavaScript/TypeScript and the React ecosystem; native module development (Objective‑C/Swift, Java/Kotlin) is a plus.
Understand mobile performance optimization and implement platform‑specific solutions.
Familiar with mobile testing frameworks and debugging tools.
Self‑starting, entrepreneurial, humble and willing to grow.
Collaborative, enthusiastic about teamwork, learning, and teaching.
Fluent in English.
