We are seeking a self-driven, highly motivated Backend Software Engineer to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive topics around data persistence and consumption in SAP for Me backend
- Drive improvements around system connectivity and data exchange protocols (oData)
- Evaluate and improve tools to support operational efficiency, reliability and observerability
- Act as a Developer on Duty depending on calendar schedule during working time
Requirements:
- Very experienced in software development for production applications in Java (11+)
- Understanding of reactive and asynchronous programming concepts
- Implementation of integration design patterns, especially in a microservices or event-driven architecture
- Building and tuning large-scale, high-performance web applications
- Experience with Vert.x (or similar e.g. Akka)
- Experience in SAP BTP
- Understanding of the OData specification (Open Data Protocol)
- Experience with Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes, Docker, or other container technologies
- Experience in OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana
- Experience in Helm chart authoring
- Comfortable working with testing frameworks.
- JUnit 5 would be a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- DevOps mindset with hands-on infra skills
Nice to Have:
- Experienced in SAP HANA DB
- Node.js
