El Departamento de Ingeniería Mecánica y Materiales de la Escuela de Ingeniería de la Universidad de Navarra (Tecnun) busca un candidato para realizar una tesis doctoral centrada en explorar la utilización de la computación cuántica para la resolución de algoritmos de Machine Learning presentes en el sector ferroviario.
First, an analysis of the most relevant applications/algorithms (quantum machine learning, optimization,…) and the impact that quantum technology can have on the CAF group, according to its current and future needs, will be carried out.
Second, Quantum Machine Learning will be chosen as a field of application because of its relation with neural network studies that are currently being carried out in the framework of another PhD.
The candidate will work on the transformation of the current real industrial problem to the framework of quantum computers and its subsequent resolution.
It is expected that in order to realize this example the problem will have to be simplified, but it will allow to establish requirements for its future use.
The doctoral thesis will be carried out in close collaboration with CAF I+D.
