Some Expertini tools use AI to draft and review text for you. Here is plainly what that means: which tools use it, what we send, what we remove first, and what stays in your control.

Where we use AI

In tools that write or review text with you — cover letters, CV improvements, tailoring a CV to a job, interview questions and feedback, career and skill plans, and short summaries of job-market figures. Tools that use AI are marked, and each use counts towards your plan's monthly allowance.

Where we don't

The ATS score, the resume score, the salary and income tax calculators, the PDF and Word converters, JobFlow, the practice timer and the wellbeing check-in work without an AI model. Their results come from rules we describe on each page.

Your contact details stay with us

Before any text is sent to an AI model, we remove email addresses, phone numbers and personal profile links (such as LinkedIn or GitHub). This happens on our servers for every AI feature, on the website and in the app.

Fairer matching

The Candidate Match Score goes further: it also removes names, addresses, postcodes, dates of birth, nationality, religion, gender and marital status from a CV before it is analysed, so those details cannot affect the score.

Files are not kept

When a tool reads a CV, PDF or Word file, the file is used for that one request and then deleted. What you choose to save — a cover letter, an answer, a plan — is kept in your Expertini account, visible only to you, and you can delete it at any time.

You stay in control

  • Results are suggestions. Nothing is sent to an employer or applied for on your behalf.
  • Text you paste is treated as material for the task, never as instructions to the model.
  • We check each answer before showing it and discard answers that don't fit the task.
  • AI can make mistakes — read and edit a result before you use it.
An example You write: “I'm Jane — reach me on jane@example.com, +44 7911 123456 or linkedin.com/in/jane — I led a team of five from 2019 to 2023.”
The model receives: “I'm Jane — reach me on [email removed], [phone removed] or [profile link removed] — I led a team of five from 2019 to 2023.”

Which model

Our AI features use Google's Gemini models through Google's paid API, called from Expertini's servers. Your browser or phone never talks to the model directly, and the instructions for each task are written by us, not taken from what you type.

Not used to train AI

Under Google's terms for its paid API, what we send is not used to train Google's models. Expertini does not train AI models on your data either.

How Expertini handles AI, in short

We use AI where it genuinely helps you write and prepare, and we say so on each tool. We remove your contact details before anything is sent, keep uploaded files only for the moment they are needed, and leave every decision to you.

Can I use Expertini without AI?

Yes. Job search, applications, job alerts, the ATS score, the resume score, the salary and tax calculators and many planning tools work without AI. You only use AI when you press a button that asks for a draft, a review or a suggestion.

Do you remove my name too?

Not in every tool — some, like a cover letter, need it to make sense. Email addresses, phone numbers and profile links are always removed. The Candidate Match Score removes your name and other personal details as well, because it is meant to judge the CV on skills alone.

Is my data used to train AI?

No. We use Google's paid Gemini API, and under Google's terms for paid services the text we send is not used to train its models. Expertini does not train AI models on your data.

Who can see what I save?

Only you, when you are signed in to your Expertini account on this site or in the Expertini app. Employers do not see your tool work. You can delete any saved item, or your whole account, at any time.

Is the AI's answer always right?

No. AI can be confidently wrong or miss context about you. Treat every result as a draft: check facts, dates and numbers, and change anything that doesn't sound like you.
